….another coffee mug cover

Saturday, May 18th, 2013

My girlfriend saw the purple coffee mug cover that I made a while back and asked me for a red one. These are so quick and easy to knit up and make great gifts! Again, instead of a traditional ‘tea bag’ I added ‘mas cafe’ for my Spanish speaking amiga.

Mug Cover

My friend, Sylvia, asked me to make her a coffee mug cover. She sent me a photo of a knitted one with an embroidered tea bag tag that read. “Chai tea.” Since she is a coffee drinker and ‘una Latina’, I decided to embroider “more coffee’ in Spanish. I love it!

A Few Baby Gifts

Sunday, January 6th, 2013

Lately I have been making baby shower gifts, and I have a few more to make! Is there a baby boom going on?! I have been pulling books, yarn and needles out for each of the projects, and my craft room is currently a mess! So, there were four baby gifts to make, and I have two down and two more to go. But first off, let me share a photo of the cute baby wearing the knitted set I made. He looks adorable in it.

Baby Gifts

The next gifts were for a “New Grandmothers” baby shower hosted by a co-worker. It was a very cute idea and I was told that one of the nursery color scheme was green and brown.

Snug Baby Sweater, Beanie & Gansey Booties

Wednesday, November 14th, 2012

I just finished this cute sweater and bootie set for a co-worker who is expecting a littly boy in 2 weeks. This is the first time I’ve ever used this yarn, and it is so soft and chunky! I love the way this sweater feels. I made the 6 month size and changed the pattern stitching along the two fronts that extend into the hood. The pattern stitch is #209 from “Vogue Knitting’s Stitchionary 1” book. I gave her the set today at work and she loved it!

Bear Sweater

Monday, March 19th, 2012

Omg, I finally finished this sweater for my grandson! I started this sweater in September last year and it sat unfinished in the knitting basket for too long! I guess I was just having too much fun being with him. I now hope that he can wear it in the Fall, as I made it (hopefully) a little big. If not, I will be trying to extend all the ribbing!!

Here’s a photo of me presenting the Meandering Vines Shawl to my niece! It was so beautiful, I had a hard time letting it go!
