Crocheted Baby Sneakers

Tuesday, March 5th, 2013

I love this pattern! I found this pattern on an Etsy shop called “Childhaps” and just had to make them! This is the 3 month size, and were made for a friend who is expecting a little boy. Wouldn’t these look cute in pink for a girl?! Or with stripes of different colors, or embroidered daisy-stitch flowers! So many cute options.

When I shopped for the crochet thread, the store didn’t have red nylon in size 5, so I doubled the red colors of crochet cotton thread size 10, with a nylon thread size 2. Next time I will carry two strands (size 2) of white to make the sole more sturdy.

Pattern: Gym Shoes * Thread:Aunt Lydia’s Crochet Thread size 10 and Artiste Nylon Thread sizes 2 & 5 * Hook: size 1 (2.75mm)

Christening Set

Monday, February 11th, 2013

Just finished this Christening set for one of my close friend’s Grandbaby. She is a first-time grandmother and asked me to make a pair of booties for her precious ‘Trinity.’

This is my first time using this pattern and it is now my favorite! I have had the book that features this pattern for ever…and I have always had it on my ‘to do’ list. The New Testament Bible cover pattern is from another source and goes well with this set.

My friend, Sylvia, asked me to make her a coffee mug cover. She sent me a photo of a knitted one with an embroidered tea bag tag that read. “Chai tea.” Since she is a coffee drinker and ‘una Latina’, I decided to embroider “more coffee’ in Spanish. I love it!

Another baby shower gift completed! This is a crocheted baby cloche to fit 9-12 months. I have actually made this cute hat before, but made it using a lavender cotton. I am now working on a little a summer sweater to match using pink and white cotton. If only I had enough hours in the day!

Crocheted Daisy Braided Strap Booties

Sunday, January 20th, 2013

I finished the booties in time for the baby shower. After I took these photos, I decided to sew a little white button in the middle of each flower. It looked much better. The pattern is very easy and super cute with the fastener loop that goes around the flower. Yes, she loved the booties! I have a few more baby gifts to make, stay tuned…

Project Collages

Wednesday, January 9th, 2013

I just realized that I haven’t made a collage of my F.O. for the past several years! Gee, that proves that I’ve been too busy with life in general. But, hey, as they say, “better late than never.” So, here are my F.O. collages for the years 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. I hope to be busier this year, as far as knitting and crocheting goes…it’s ‘good medicine’ for me!

A Few Baby Gifts

Sunday, January 6th, 2013

Lately I have been making baby shower gifts, and I have a few more to make! Is there a baby boom going on?! I have been pulling books, yarn and needles out for each of the projects, and my craft room is currently a mess! So, there were four baby gifts to make, and I have two down and two more to go. But first off, let me share a photo of the cute baby wearing the knitted set I made. He looks adorable in it.

Baby Gifts

The next gifts were for a “New Grandmothers” baby shower hosted by a co-worker. It was a very cute idea and I was told that one of the nursery color scheme was green and brown.

I've been knitting & crocheting many years, and it is great to see the rise in popularity. Basically, the loves of my life include: knitting, crocheting, being with my family and giving thanks to God for how He's blessed my life, but not necessarily in that order!
